Leadership


Kimball C. Chen, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Chen is the principal owner of the ETG Companies, and he and his family have owned or controlled major companies and industrial assets in the United States, China and other countries for over 100 years.

His background includes the B.A. degree magna cum laude in 1973 from Harvard University, the M.B.A. degree in 1978 from Harvard Business School, banking experience in Boston and London, and development of companies in diverse fields including high technology, medical devices, genomics, digital signal processing, internet B2B, industrial controls and retail food and beverages.

He serves on the Board of Directors and Industry Council of the World LP Gas Association, advises governments on gas policy and has frequently been an invited speaker at major LNG, LPG, gas and economic development conferences as well as a contributor to various LNG and LPG textbooks and industry publications. Mr. Chen's past and present outside activities include the Council on Foreign Relations, board service at Financial Services Corporation of New York (New York City's economic development bank), various Harvard University committees, the Board of Trustees of the Eisenhower Fellowships, the Board of Trustees of Groton School, and other boards and committees.


Alex. W. Evans, President and Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Evans has served as President & COO since 2004. Prior to this role, Mr. Evans served as ETG's head of Global Technology Ventures. Previously, Mr. Evans was Chief Operating Officer of Notifact Corporation, an ETG company in wireless networking and information management focused on improving efficiency in industrial and service-industry supply chains.

Prior to joining the ETG Companies, he served as Chief Executive Officer of ContactNow, Inc., a multinational software and information services company. Prior to ContactNow he was General Manager at Digitran Corporation (now Easylink Services Corporation), a global, public company focused on electronic trading, communications, and transaction delivery services for Global 2000 companies. Prior to Digitran he served as a principal consultant with the Paradigm Consulting Group, focusing on improving results for international distribution, agribusiness, and manufacturing companies. Previously, he worked in software development and national and international account management with IBM. He received the M.B.A. degree with high distinction (Baker Scholar) in 1993 from Harvard University and the B.S. degree (cum laude) in Electrical Engineering in 1985 from Yale University.

Mr. Evans has been a speaker at multiple technology industry conferences and events and at leading U.S. universities regarding technology-based businesses, disruptive business strategy, and automated commerce. His outside activities include acting as an adviser with the New York City ReSTART Fund (established after Sept. 11, 2001), various Harvard and Yale alumni organizations, and the Junior Achievement organization.
